Homelessness has many causes and housing stability involves many solutions.

Our Families Forward family transitional housing program is designed to assist and support families on their journey to greater self-sufficiency.

The goal is not simply to get families into housing; it is keeping them in housing for the rest of their lives and generations to come.

Family Promise of Midland owns and operates 7 duplexes for its Families Forward program:  3 - 2 bedroom/2 bath units and 11 - 3 bedroom/2 bath units.  4 of the units are ADA compliant.

Like the MIHN program, a family must be homeless and have at least 1 child under the age of 18 years in their care to qualify for the program.  Families are required to follow rules, attend parent training classes, and work with a case manager on personal goals.

Upon acceptance, each family pays a relatively small monthly program fee for a fully furnished unit, which covers case management services, childcare, and all the utilities (wifi, cable if needed, electricity, gas, etc.).

Families may reside in a unit for up to 2 years, as long as they follow all rules, are making progress toward their goals, and demonstrate a willingness to apply what they have learned in the program to their lives.

If just housing is the goal, this program is NOT for you.  You will have to work the program to stay in the program and gain benefit from it.  It's not easy, but it will work for you IF you're willing to make a little sacrifice now.  We've had 5 families go from homelessness to homeownership!
